While Bipolar disorder most likely dates back as far as when our ancestors first came into existence, the earliest documentation we have on bipolar disorder goes back to 300- 400 BC the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle had thanked melancholia for the gifts of artists, poets, and writers, the creative minds of his time. Whereas Greek physician Hippocrates believed that the state of depression (melancholy, melancholia) resulted from an excess of black bile in the body. The ancient physicians practiced medicine and diagnosis based on the four temperaments as part of the ancient medical concept of humorism, that four bodily fluids ( blood, yellow bile, black bile, and green phlegm) affect human personality traits. Donââ¬â¢t waste time! Our writers will create an original "The History of Bipolar Disorder" essay for you Create order Moods, emotions, and behaviors. (This appears to be the earliest documented discovery of bipolar disorder.) In ancient times, it was documented that bipolar sufferers were treated inhumanely and sometimes sent to their premature deaths due to extreme treatments/punishments.In the earliest days of documentation, these people were viewed as crazy, possessed by the devil or demons, Dr. Gardenswartz says. The people ought to know that the brain is the sole origin of pleasures and joys, laughter and jests, sadness and worry as well as dysphoria, and differentiate between feeling ashamed, good, bad, happy Through the brain we become insane, enraged, we develop anxiety and fears, which can come in the night or during the day, we suffer from sleeplessness, we make mistakes and have unfounded worries, we lose the ability to recognize reality, we become apathetic and we cannot participate in social life We suffer all those mentioned above through the brain when it is ill Hippocrates (460-337 BC) Centuries would come and no new research or advances on bipolar disorder or mental illness would be conducted. It wasnt until the 18th and 19th century when developments in science and medicine were fast underway. Studies conducted allowed researchers, physicians, and early psychiatrist the opportunity to truly learn and grow an understanding of the disorder. It is at this time in 1854 when two French Psychiatrists Jean-Pierre Falret and Jules Baillarger began their individual research on bipolar disorder. Both men presented their research and reports on the disorder to the Academy of Medicine in Paris. Baillarger called his diagnosis to the disorder dual-form insanity and Falret called the disorder circular insanity, this is believed to be the first recorded diagnosis of bipolar disorder. Falfret was the first to identify that bipolar disorder is genetically linked. In his research, he followed 6 individual with bipolar symptoms and their families. He found that other family members showed symptoms as well. In 1902 a German psychiatrist by the name of Emil Kraepelin, who is considered the founder of the field of pharmacopsychology what is known today as psychopharmacology. Kraepelin is best recognized for his work in classifying mental disorders and for bringing together and analyzing the influence of biology on mental disorders, including bipolar disorder. Up until this time, most psychiatrists classified the symptoms of bipolar illness as a diagnosis for schizophrenia. It was through Dr. Kraepelins studies and diagnosis that a new term for the disorder was established Manic-depressive Psychosis. along with Manic-depression the term Kraepelin used to describe mental illnesses centered in emotional or mood problems. By the 1950s, German psychiatrist Karl Leonhard and his colleagues developed the classification system that led to the term bipolar, differentiating between unipolar and bipolar depression. According to Robert L. Spitzer, MD, professor of psychiatry at Columbia University. The term bipolar logically emphasizes the two poles, Specifically, it is known that people with unipolar depression experience drops in mood, and people with bipolar depression usually experience both depressed and elevated moods in a cyclical manner. By 1952 the DSM American Psychiatric Associations Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) for classifying mental illnesses was available and was a big help in diagnosing many mental illnesses. The breakthroughs would come in the late 1970s and early 1980s when a lot more funding became available for research and studies into behavioral health. It was during this time in 1980 when Dr. Spitzer and his team wrote the third version and a major revision to the DSM. The 3rd version is considered a bible and a scientific instrument of enormous power by specialists and others in the professions, having done away with a one-size-fits-all classification system. Since then a fourth revision has been published in 2000 and a fifth in 2013. Along with the DSM, another relevant major system of classification is the International Classification of Diseases (10th revision, ICD-10, and the revised 11th revision, ICD-11) published by the World Health Organization. Both manuals ha ve deliberately merged their diagnoses to some extent, but there are some differences. An example is that ICD-10 does not include narcissistic personality disorder as a distinct category, while DSM-5 does not include enduring personality change after a tragic or stressful experience or after a psychiatric illness. While times have changed as did the names of mental disorders. so did the range of medical treatments for those with bipolar disorder. A new revision to the DSM is in the talks as of 2014 the revision would include removing a current concept of childhood bipolar disorder to the bipolar field and create a new disorder category called: Temper Dysregulation Disorder with Dysphoria (TDD). During the 1940s strong sedatives and barbiturates were prescribed especially to the grief-struck war veterans coming back from the war. prior to the 1950s and into the late 1950s; patients who showed signs of mental illness, delay or bipolar disorder were also institutionalized to separate them from others. Hot baths were used in the ancient times and continued to be used through the ages, presumed to calm the person down. Bleeding a patient was also a treatment used, thought to help cleanse the body of toxins and useful for balancing the patients system with the hopes the patient mind find mental relief. Electroconvulsive shock therapy and prefrontal lobotomies emerged as two more radical treatment options until new methods evolved and were accepted. Psychotropic medicine was developed and in its early stages, it was prescribed to young children as old 2 years old who seemed to fit a mood disorder like bipolar disorder. Dangerous consequences permanent irreversible damage and deat h came along with these treatments and were found to be inhumane and have since been banned for medical practice. Since the discovery and arrival lithium, the choices in medications (including antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and antidepressants) combined with supportive, cognitive behavioral and insight-oriented counseling and care, have provided new tools to confront and manage bipolar disorder. We have come along way and Our understanding of bipolar disorder has certainly evolved since ancient times. Great advances in education and treatment have been and are being made in just the past century alone. In the next several decades, Drs believe we will see an increased differentiation of symptoms and of treatments, and possibly, the ability to prevent and detect the onset of the disorder. Still, theres a lot of work to be done because many people today arent getting the treatment they need to lead better quality lives. Thankfully, continuous research is ongoing to help us better un derstand even more about this confusing chronic condition. From that point, the final drink is filled into bottles, capped, labeled, coded and then inspected. The final product is then packaged and kept in the warehouse for delivery. 2.The above process is continuous as it made to ensure that market demand is met. In order to ensure that this process is continuous, the company has employed people who work in shifts i.e. night shift and day time. Cases incorporate more extensive utilization of smartphone apps for enhanced collaboration in the field The use of visual aids by Coca-Cola is very minimal. They only use in marketing their products through TV commercials like the share a coke campaign. I will recommend that they use it even in the employees workplace so that they can also enhance the safety of employees Location Since Coca-Cola is a worldwide brand, most of their businesses are located in cities and towns. The reason behind this is because partners who bought their franchise usually do have strategic locations for instance in Riyadh, it is in the most prestigious business location of Kharis road. Supply chain management There are various strategies used by Coca-Cola in supply chain management. They include; Value addition strategy. As this is very crucial for a business to grow, it helps in expanding the product value and lessening the wastage in an organization's production network. The essential idea of this term is to how to make the inventory network that powerful that it brings about the productivity of the organization. What's more, one can make their inventory network handle more significant by keeping up solid associations with providers or by utilizing innovation. In this manner, thusly, one can increase the value of its inventory network handle and change it into esteem chain. An item or administration must be esteemed when it satisfies the need and desire of the clients (Simchi-Levi, Kaminsky and Simchi-Levi, 2015). Efficiency and sustainability strategy This is another key strategy for a good supply chain for the company. Therefore they have introduced combined heat and power systems to their production plants. This equipment is used to minimize the consumption of CO2. Operational strategy I t is quite amazing to find that coca cola products reach the supermarket shelves within twenty-four hours after manufacture. This is because the company continuously procure new state of the art production lines and sites. Every branch across the globe sources local workforce to ensure that the customer demands are met on time. How vendor selection/purchasing is handled At coca cola, all the printed material is overseen on the ERP frameworks which mean to be considerably more secure than printed material. Fundamentally the procedure of procurement begins with the selection of the supplier and winds up with the order placement with the preferred supplier (Tallant, 2013). How supply chain is managed The international supply chain of the company is a boundlessly complex arrangement of plants, bottling sites, stockrooms, and customers, close by various item offerings taking after various supply chains with the varying target (Tallant, 2013). In order to manage this, it implemented several guidelines for a successful management. These include;Develop a solid system for specifying pecking orders that change when the business changes. Focus on estimations to drive profit consistency and metric consistency over the stock system. Focusing on estimations requiring no manual intervention Focusing on industry rules that are not main for Coke Materials management/distribution TCC is the sole provider of the materials that coke uses in their manufacturing process. They include concentrates and syrups. They also partner with other licensors that have some of their raw materials. The company also get other raw materials apart from the mentioned before from different providers for instance bottles, cans, CO2 and water. More so every single approved compartment, terminations, cases, containers and different bundles, and marks for the results of TCCC must be obtained from producers affirmed by TCCC (Tallant, 2013). The use of e-commerce by Coca-Cola Company B2C or business to consumers is an e-commerce model used by coke. They made a web-based store known as cocacolastore.com that intended to extend cokes conveyance of requested stock. It highlights coke branded items like apparel and merchandise. The business partner behind this is Innotrac Inc. The assention calls for Innotrac to plan and build up the site and additionally deal with all parts of request preparing, satisfaction, and client mind. Recommendation and suggestion For the Coca-Cola Company that to contend in the market, they ought to keep a general mind their inventory network process and continue enhancing it with the evolving period (AGUS, 2011). To catch an upper hand they should continue improving new items and attempt their hands in different parts of .beverages and food Bibliography BUSINESS PERFORMANCE. Queen of the Damned Review Paper Essay on Queen of the Damned Probably every woman in his life uttered the phrase: All men the goats. And if your life has been going on for thousands of years. Well this is how can get it for a period of time representatives of strong half of humanity? The third book Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice speaks about the Akasha, the queen of the damned awakened, the mother of all vampires, that strictly speaking the same thing. Moving away from centuries of sleep, she obviously got the wrong foot. In the first place, she decided to change the faithful husband to Lestat. And the question of divorce decided quite radically killing ex-husband. As it turned out eternal love lasts 3-4 thousand years, and then companion falls in love with a rock star and leaving the narrowed, not bothering to explaining the reasons for his action. Second, kill all the vampires except for friends of her lover Lestat. Thats certainly better to keep out of the womans eyes when shes not in the mood. I do not know how the remaining group favorites, but the majority of those sentenced to death, I think, would not be in accordance with its decision. To make matters worse in the Akashic megalomania increased to such an extent that she imagines himself almost god. And now the surviving vampires do not know what to do with this treasure. I must say, they are not hard to please, sleeps poorly, woke up even worse. Taking care of the reader and do not forget to give the heroes of the previous books, the author collects all vampires, who in the previous two parts appeared at least briefly. However, a majority of them spelled out very blurry and taken them to a supporting role. A Lestat, which is undoubtedly one of the main characters practically unrecognizable. He lost against the background of the image of the Akash and looks very confused. Do not get tired of surprising the author, read the third book, but Lestat in each of them completely different. Do not departing from tradition, Rice constantly changing place and time of action, leaving the reader from one continent to the other, throwing through the whole Goals. Like the previous book in the series, it contains the story in history, tells us about the appearance of vampires. It was only thanks to this legend, I put the book 4 out of 5 because versions of the Damned was much more interesting main plot line. At least for the sake of this fascinating ancient Egyptian myth should read the book. Finally it must be said that those who liked the film Queen of the Damned can safely take up a book. The plot in the movie is so warped that it is, in my opinion, can not even be regarded as an adaptation of, rather it is a completely independent work.

Free Essays on Sudan Religion
SUDAN RELIGION III. The Role of Religion Contrary to popular mythology in the West, religion is not and has never been a chief incendiary of the civil war in the South. The Republic of Sudan is largely Muslim, and nowhere are Christians a majority, even in the South. Christians constitute approximately 5% of the total population, and are represented by more than double that percentage in the National Assembly. The religious dispersion in the South is 17% Christian, 18% Muslim, and 65% animist. Since independence, Sudan has never attempted to impose Sharia hudud punishments on Christians or override Christian practice in family law matters such as marriage, divorce, or inheritance. Freedom of religion is further augmented in the 14th Constitutional Decree. It declares: "Freedom of religion, belief, worship rites, dawaa, missionary and preaching activity are guaranteed to all, and no citizen shall be coerced to embrace any religion or creed." No religious test oath is imposed as a condition of holding any public office, unlike in Great Britain where Anglicanism is required of the Royal Family. In sum, the religious freedom decrees fully satisfy the religious plank of the IGAD Declaration of Principles, which provides: "FREEDOM OF BELIEF AND WORSHIP AND RELIGIOUS PRACTICE SHALL BE GUARANTEED IN FULL TO ALL SUDANESE CITIZENS." Freedom of religion in Sudan is celebrated not only in letter, but in spirit. Churches flourish everywhere, and Khartoum is brimming with scores. The Pope and the Archbishop of Canterbury are greeted with universal applause. Churches are frequently situated within blocks of mosques, and Christians and Muslims are integrated in neighborhoods, professional and social clubs, and in a broad array of similar community organizations. SMART Goal - Assignment Example In working out the core competency, some critical aspects must be considered. The aspect to be put on considerations is the skill, knowledge and attributes (KSA) that is related with this competency. The only KSA that is related with core competencies is using evidence to guide nursing practice. In unison, the core competence and the KSA will be used to form a leadership development smart goal. I will research on benefits of using evidence-based practice on employees who commit errors while doing nursing procedures in hospital, after I seek approval from the hospital manager. Review nursing procedure manual and guidelines, and convene a meeting with organizers of continuous medical education. Review scholarly articles and credible databases to obtain information on how using evidence to guide your practice can benefit the employees by November 24, 2014 (MacLeod, 2012). As policy dictates for any other institution, one has to seek approval before any investigative or research is done. This is usually done to safe guide the interest of others who might be implicated on the research if the motive of the research is bad. To avoid researches that might wrongfully implicated on any research the motive must be assessed. On approval one need to display the proposal of the research and what he or she is seeking to achieve. With this very reason, I had to seek for the approval from the hospital manager in order to get the consent and a go ahead letter to pursue my research on the benefit of evidenced practice in the hospital set up on the employees that commit many errors for the absence of using evidence to guide their practice. This should come first on the action plan. Next on the action plan was to review the procedure manuals and the guidelines being used in the practice. The intention is to identify the most current position of the employees with regard of material being used to practice in the hospital. This one of the problem

Writing for Media Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Writing for Media - Assignment Example ually might have lived a little bit nicer, because gas was so much cheaper.â⬠His comments were mirrored by his girlfriend, Marla, who laughed when asked about savings and interest rates, saying ââ¬Å"I havenââ¬â¢t made enough to put any money away for years, what do you think? If the interest rate were 0 or 10% it couldnââ¬â¢t make a difference to me.â⬠Though state budgets have been viciously slashed by the recession, neither of these two people seemed to notice the difference: they made too much money to be eligible for Medicaid already, and so did not face rollbacks there, and relied on very few other modes of social support. Certainly other people who made less or who were more reliant on social welfare may have had a very different experience, but for some, it is clear that being poor meant that the recession did not take a huge bight out of standard of living. The economic situation seemed much more dire to those in the lower middle and middle classes. Younghee Jan, 62, for instance, had worked as a welder and a post office clerk respectively for 35 years before attempting planning to retire around 2010. Planning to retire to a smaller but distinctly nicer house in a nicer neighborhood than he had lived for most of his life, Mr. Jang decided to buy a house in 2006, having moved here from northern California. His divorced wife tells a similar story. They sank a great deal of their nest-egg into a down payment, negotiating what seemed then like a low fixed interest rate and feeling certain that they could make their payments based on their pensions, especially given how much of the house they had already managed to pay off in a large down payment. As the recession worsened, however, they suddenly found themselves holding the bag on an unsustainable mortgage. The low interest rate they locked in at was almost twice as high as what one could get for a home loan now, and they find themselves, like many people, with a house that could not clear the mortgage

Dividend Policy at Fpl Essay Example for Free
Dividend Policy at Fpl Essay In 1994, Merrill Lynch published a report that disclosed the change in their investment rating for the FPL Group, Inc. . They had downgraded this rating as they expected the directors would choose not to raise the annual dividend. This also happened to be the first time in 47 years that the FPL Group had not raised dividends. This tweaked the interest of a certain electric utilities analyst at the First Equity Securities Corporation, Kate Stark. She now was faced with the decision whether or not to amend her own recommendation of ââ¬Å"holdâ⬠on FPL Group, Inc.ââ¬â¢s stock (her recommendation of hold was based on the assumption that FPL will keep its dividend at $2.48 per share, or increase this slightly). James Broadheld, chairman of the FPL Group, understood the issues of an ever changing marketplace, and knew that the industry was on the verge of being deregulated, and thus implemented a strategy that focused primarily on a strong commitment to quality as well as customer service, while focusing on the utilities industry and expanding capacity in order to improve its own cost position. He believed that this approach to business would result in a future of ââ¬Å"full and openâ⬠competition amongst all competitors. As a result, as of May 1994, the FPL Group was faced with a critical question ââ¬â to decrease their dividend payout ratio or not? Prior to Broadheldââ¬â¢s entry to FPL, chairman Marshall McDonald expanded the types of industries FPL were involved in during the 70ââ¬â¢s and 80ââ¬â¢s, leading to extensive diversification. Examples of such industries include real estate and insurance, just to name a few. As Broadheld stepped in, FPLââ¬â¢s diversification decreased and as a result the firm saw an improved efficiency. Exhibit 7 revealed that FPLââ¬â¢s capacity margin is 8.6%, which is alarmingly low in comparison to the other provided companies. The overall average is approximately 11.39%. This lower capacity margin shows that not much growth is to be expected of the firm, and this is of course relative to other firms. The same exhibit illustrates cost-management problems. More specifically, FPLââ¬â¢s transmission cost of $0.0019/kWh is significantly greater than the other firms provided with an average of $0.0010. Also, considering the fact that the company purchases 30% of the power used from foreign firms, FPLââ¬â¢s respective power costs can be high as they are exposed to the risk of changing (and increasing) power prices. The case presented a wide variety of changes in the industryââ¬â¢s regulatory standards. For example, 1992ââ¬â¢s Wholesale Wheeling allowed companies to buy power from another with the help of a third party. In addition, the Retail Wheeling of 1994 allowed actual customers to not only buy from the monopoly, but from other utility firms (again through third parties). Also, many firms have lost of a substantial amount in market value, including the SP Electric Utilities Index with a decline of 20%. Turning to an evaluation of the firm, many concerns have been raised over FPLââ¬â¢s ever-increasing interest expense since 1993. Analysis Total earnings are the sum of dividends paid and retained earnings. Dividend-paying firms attract investors. Generally speaking, shareholders either look for growth and/or income when purchasing shares. The former tends to pay less attention to dividend payments and more on the capital gain, whereas the latter prefers a regular income for the investment made. If Kate Stark wishes to revise her current suggestion, she needs to consider the pros and cons in doing so. Focusing first on the negative effects of cutting back on dividends, signalling is undoubtedly one of the biggest issues at hand. Since lower dividend payments may be perceived as a red flag in the companyââ¬â¢s finances, this information will likely cause a negative reaction in the market. Therefore, concerns in a decreasing stock price are justified. As for the benefits of lowering the companyââ¬â¢s dividend policy, the company can now use a larger amount of funds that would have normally been kept aside for dividend payments. This definitely makes changes to the firmââ¬â¢s financing sources. The money can thus be used for value-increasing projects. From the point of view of an investor, it may not be such a bad idea, considering that dividends are taxed more than capital gains. This results in a potentially large amount of savings for the investors. Also, one of the main benefits of reducing the dividend policy is to lower the risk of market volatility and deregulation.

Henry Adams :: essays research papers
The Education of the Henry Adams reviews Adams’s and the United States’s education and growth during the 19th century. Adams was an old man who had Puritan beliefs about sex and religion. In this autobiography, Adams voices his skepticism about man’s newfound power to control the direction of history, in particular, the exploding world of science and technology, where all certainties of the future have vanished (anb.org, 1). Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Adams grew up in the United Stated where he was a Puritan. Puritans believed that sex (women especially) was just a form of fertility and reproduction; otherwise “sex was a sin'; (Adams, 384). “American art, like the American language and American education, was as far as possible sexless'; (Adams, 385). The only sculptures and paintings of women that Adams viewed with understanding were those like the Virgin Mary, who was always seen as non-sexual. For example, “America was ashamed of her…have strewn fig-leaves so profusely all over her'; (Adams, 384). However, during this time of the technology revolution, women were beginning to be viewed differently, especially in Europe. Women were viewed as beautiful and mortal beings. People such as Rodin were representing women in paintings and sculptures sexually. Sex was becoming something more than just a means of reproduction. Suddenly Adams was far, far away from his Puritan custom-bound life. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã People were no longer motivated by religion, being saved by God, and going to heaven; science, technology, money, and power had taken over the drives of man. Religion (a common “scale'; of the past) had taken the backseat to science, technology, money, power, and the new ideas and art of sex (all new “scales'; of the present and the future). “In opposition to the medieval Virgin, Adams saw a new godhead—the dynamo—symbol of the modern history’s anarchic energies'; (anova.org, 1). Adams desperately wanted to learn about the new world of technology, the “dynamos';, yet he felt helpless to find this new knowledge and to comprehend it. Ã Ã Ã Ã Ã Adams was overwhelmed by the technology of the dynamos. When Adams saw the dynamo, it became a symbol of the future, of infinity (Adams, 380).

An Analysis of Saigon Morin Hotel in Hue City Thorough 7ps in Marketing Strategies
TITLE An analysis of Saigon Morin Hotel in Hue city thorough 7Ps in marketing strategies INTRODUCTION The ability to market a hotel in the appropriate way to the appropriate market is essential to the success of the business. For this to succeed, those in key roles need to understand the product that they are selling and the market to which it is being sold. Managers maximize their returns through understanding the market they are operating in and applying those marketing techniques that can best attract guests. Hotels are a service industry. Hotel products have the following characteristics: inseparability, intangibility, perishability, and variability. As society has changed, with people having more disposable income and more free time, there has been a growing awareness and desire by a greater number of people for service-orientated products such as hotels. Along with this growth, understanding is needed for the products that are being marketed. Since the early 1960s many marketers have been using the ââ¬Å"4Psâ⬠marketing mix: (1) product, (2) price, (3) promotion, (4) place. Consideration is given to the change that would result from varying the product, price, promotion, and place in achievement of the organization goals. However, use of the 4Ps is limiting when considering a service orientated business such as a hotel as it does not adequately reflect the complexity of the product. In response to the limitations of the 4Ps marketing mix, Booms and Bitner (1981) proposed a 7P marketing mix. These 7Ps included the 4Ps, adding People, Process, and Physical evidence. STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Marketing mix plays an important role in enhancing business efficiency of enterprises. Nowadays, it does apply to not only the material products but also the services, lodging service for example. The marketing mix has affected dramatically customer satisfaction, cutting edge of competitiveness of service enterprisesâ⬠¦ Saigon Morin Hotel is well-known as the leading hotel in Hue. However, it has been strived to overcome threats coming from the market. Above all, they are faced to the new potential competitors, such as Celadon Hotel, La Resident Hotel, Hue Green Hotel, etcâ⬠¦ PURPOSE In order to enhance the business efficiency of Saigon Morin Hotel, the study was carried out on the efforts putting the marketing mix into practice from the customer viewpoints, from which solutions was made to improve the marketing mix for the hotel businesses. The aim of my research is to assess the implementation of marketing-mix product stay at Hotel Saigon Morin, which focused analysis of state marketing-mix elements of the hotel, identifying constraint. The purpose is to propose solutions to improve marketing-mix policies contribute to resolving the issues. METHODOLOGY Research of my topic will require the collection of many statistically figures and hard data. For this reason, I will collect a good part of the data from online sources and files. The theoretical framework is based on ââ¬Å"Principles & Practice of Marketingâ⬠book by Jim Blythe. This framework illustrated the outline of marketing planning process for service organizations. However, the phase of formulating marketing objectives and strategies will be focused. When researching the Saigon Morin Hotel, I will depend highly on files and documentation of statistical figures as well as my ability to collect information from managers and employees via the interview process. A good part of my research period will be spent in Hue city interviewing Saigon Morin Hotel customers and non Saigon Morin Hotel consumers alike to gain differing perspectives on the hotel industry. Interviews will be conducted with the help of my uncle who is currently working for Saigon Morin Hotel. I plan to spend time in this hotel interviewing customers and employees of the hotel to understand how this hotel has personally affected the people. Furthermore, I plan to spend a brief period in this hotel interviewing the Sales and Marketing manager in order to understand how the people at base of this hotel industry have been impacted by the global expansion of this hotel. Lastly, observational skills will be essential in all stages of my research in order to gain a first-hand perspective of the role that 7Ps plays in the success of the hotels and analyze how 7Ps affected in the operation of this hotel industry. LIMITATIONS This research has numerous restrictions that must be taken into account for including: a short time frame, my level of experience, my skills in research methods, language barrier. I remain optimistic that all the limitations foreseen can be overcome. DESCRIPTION OF THE HOTEL Built in 1901 by French, the Morin Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Vietnam. Survived through many wars, this is more than a hotel. It is a part of the history of Hue city in the last 100 years. Now lovingly restored to its century-old glory, Saigon Morin is once ready to live up to its reputation as the choice of celebrities, intrepid adventures and businessmen. The Hotel offers everything a discerning traveler would expect form a world class hotel without sacrificing the old world charm that made the Morin Hotel legendary. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION According to the statistics, customers staying in Saigon Morin Hotel stated that 88% people are willing to recommend this hotel to others. What is more, the level of this hotel among 123 people is listed below: Excellent: 52 people Very good: 45 people Average: 15 people Poor: 7 people Terrible: 3 people Ms. Phika from UK said ââ¬Å"Great Hotel in Hue. We stayed in a deluxe river view room. There are marble floors in the hall and bath, the rest is hardwood and it is creakyâ⬠¦ no sneaking quietly to the bath at night. The room was bright, the lighting good with one window wall with a view of the Perfume River. The plumbing is very modern and cool. The king size bed is comfortable and elegant looking when you arrive. The pillows to sleep on were huge and gave neck pain the next day, so I ended up sleeping on a smaller decorator pillow. The staffs are very helpful and kind. The included buffet breakfast has a good selection and lunch is good at $9 U. S. for pizza/soup or sandwich. The fitness area really needs a better lay out! Right now the bathrooms are in the restaurant, the equipment in an open area and a shower outside with a curtain. You would have to dry off and dress in the shower. Other than that, it is a wonderful five star hotel and we certainly would use it again. â⬠Ms. Susan Skate from Florida, America said: ââ¬Å"Loved this hotel! People refer to the customers, employees, management and everybody else involved in it. It is essential for everyone to realize that the reputation of the brand that you are involved with is in the people's hands. To be able to understand those characteristics it is necessary to comprehend the basic human characteristics of needs, wants, and demands. People, including employees, stakeholders, and guests, are the core component of the hotel industry. A key part of marketing a hotel to the guest requires an understanding of the needs, wants, and demands of the potential and returning guest. ? Needs ââ¬â human beings have many basic needs including food, clothing, safety, feeling of belonging, and so on. When these basic needs are not met the person takes one of two actions: (1) looks for an object that will satisfy the need, or (2) tries to reduce the need. These are influenced by individual personality and culture. ? Wants ââ¬â communication of needs ââ¬â wants are viewed as things that will satisfy needs. Demands ââ¬â buying power of wants ââ¬â people have many wants, but may only have limited ability to purchase; when a person has the ability to purchase a want it becomes a demand. The decision to purchase a hotel product normally begins with a need and is affected by some type of stimuli, for example a television commercial, a newspaper advertisement, or the Internet. In many situations the development of a need is a subtle process. Although it may be observed that some people suddenly express that they need something, often this is the outward expression of a developing inner feeling of need. Training has to be on a wide perspective as, even nowadays, there is a big demand of basic training skills, the hotel industry will need, in the near future, a big number of well-trained staff at all levels of the structure, from top management to basic staff like waiters, etc. It refers to the methods and process of providing a service and is hence essential to have a thorough knowledge on whether the services are helpful to the customers, if they are provided in time, if the customers are informed in hand about the services and many such things. The development of needs in the consumer is a major component of marketing success. In the selection process, customers make repeated decisions as they continually attempt to satisfy their perceived needs. Potential customers looking for a hotel room make a number of decisions when choosing where to stay. The process that they go through in the selection of a product is important for hotel management to understand. Management should know (1) that a particular hotel will be evaluated differently by different guests, (2) where a particular guest is satisfied with one hotel that they may be dissatisfied with another, and (3) the perceptions of guests change over time and with experience. The decision process by potential guests is a complex process. All consumers are the same, they are influenced by numerous factors such as personality, culture and so on. When their needs are put into a condition where they can be communicated they then become wants. There are the things that a person perceives as having the power to satisfy their needs. This is the beginning of the search process, and the selection of alternatives that would have the ability to satisfy the needs. Although a consumer may identify many needs and wants, not all of these are converted into a demand for a product. As a result of limited ability to purchase, only a few of the needs and wants may be converted into demands. The ability to purchase relates to the many factors that make up the individual, which include such things as age, income, life experience, gender, previous purchase experiences, etc. An important part of the marketing process is therefore to understand those characteristics that make us individuals and to try to recognize this in such a way that there is a large enough market to successfully target. This process is called market segmentation. To adapt all organizational processes, public and private, in order to become highly competitive in the markets. 4. Other problems exist in the policy-mix Marketing By studying the status of development and implementation of policies for marketing mix products stay hotel, the project has discovered a number of problems exist as follows: First, the policy of the hotel product still matters inadequacies, not bring high satisfaction to customers. The most noteworthy point is the system of complementary products of the hotel also monotonous and lack of tourists has found that demand true. Thirdly, marketing plan of Saigon Morin Hotel was a matter of professionalism in the process of distributing products to the market (actually done work and selling) of the hotel still many problems to overcome. Finally, the existence of the work is to promote and advertise products. Besides the way of marketing effectiveness, creating a good impression to customers, policies to promote products of the hotel is still a gap between supply and demand. 5. The solutions to improve the policy mix in Marketing-Hotel Saigon Morin â⬠¢ A good quality service when it meets the needs and expectations of customers. Therefore, the policy development products, hotels have researched the ability to match the product to market, especially the target market. â⬠¢ For high culture and art of receiving and processing feedback from customers. Upon receiving the feedback from customers, the receiving departments must explain how, skillfully handled in the shortest time. â⬠¢ Hotels have agreed a methodology than science products, has had to rely on the specific objectives of the hotel as input costs, power use prevention and plans for sales but also to based on factors beyond the control of seasonal businesses such as computer, the competition in the market. â⬠¢ In reality, there are some guests are not as profitable but higher for hotels large effect in promoting the image and enhance the prestige of the hotel. In this case, the hotel should not be too focused on sales targets which must seize the opportunity to perform activities public relations (PR ââ¬â Publish Relation). â⬠¢ Hotels must continue to improve the system of distribution channels. Special consideration must be to develop more representative offices in the domestic market and a source of major customers such as Japan, America, Germany â⬠¦ â⬠¢ Activities to promote, promote products must consider two issues mainly the content and methods to promote products. Depending on the object receiving the broadcast messages must be designed to match and bring the most effective.
